Self-Care and Daily Maintenance – Part 1

Welcome to the Survive and Conquer blog! I’m Rasheem, CEO of the brand, and I’m excited to kick off this two-part series about self-care and daily maintenance. As someone who’s passionate about mental health, I want to share some of my personal routines that help me stay grounded, focused, and ready to conquer each day.

A strong start to your morning sets the tone for the entire day. For me, this begins with meditation. Taking a few moments to center my thoughts allows me to let go of yesterday and focus on the present. Afterward, I wash my face and brush my teeth while listening to my daily affirmations. I can’t stress enough how important affirmations are—they’re super encouraging and have been my way of overcoming self-doubt and trauma. These small, yet powerful, statements remind me that I am capable of achieving my goals and overcoming whatever life throws my way.

Next, I take my dog on a 15-minute walk every morning. This short but energizing time outdoors is the perfect way to get fresh air and clear my head before I dive into the day. Once I’m back, it’s time to hit the gym around 7 AM. A great workout boosts my mood and prepares me to handle anything that comes my way.

After the gym, I return home and jump right into my to-do list. Being organized and maintaining a daily structure is key, but I’ve found that incorporating self-care into this structure is even more crucial. When we make self-care part of our daily routine, we release endorphins, reduce stress, and set ourselves up for better overall health.

The beauty of a self-care routine is that it can be personalized to whatever brings you peace and happiness. Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll dive deeper into more self-care strategies and how to maintain them throughout the day.

In the meantime, remember: It’s okay to take time for yourself—you deserve it!
